It takes a team to make our programs happen here at Friends of Boca Grande Community Center, and a vital part of that team is our wonderful volunteers. We know there is a plethora of talent on the island, and if you have ever wanted to put your skills to use at the Boca Grande Community Center, there are a variety of ways you can do it! And there are some benefits, too. Volunteers who have already purchased a ticket to an event will enjoy reserved seating in the auditorium. Volunteers who have not purchased tickets are welcome to enjoy the simulcast program in the Woman’s Club Room, or if seats are available, to take a late seat in the auditorium. Photos by Jane Ringer
Here is a sample of some of the volunteer opportunities available for the 2017/18 season:
Program Greeters – We always need help taking tickets and handing out programs at the entrance doors to the auditorium.
Ushers – Ushers encourage people to fill in all the seats, keep a count of empty seats for people on standby, and to distribute and pick up question/answer cards.
Registration & Ticket Sales – If you are comfortable handling cash sales, we always need help on the day of the event.
Book & Music Sales – Many of the programs include an opportunity to meet the author or artist and purchase autographed books and CDs. Be prepared for a fast-paced experience!
Cabaret & Jazz Crew – Get a behind-the-scenes experience and be a part of the set-up and/or clean-up crew for Coconut Cabaret and All That Jazz events held at the Crowninshield Community House.
…and there are many more opportunities. Call the Friends office at 941-964-0827 today!
