Sir John Scarlett, KCMG OBE featuring Simon Bound, Recipient of the Queen’s Gallantry Medal and Former Global Director of Research at Morgan Stanley

Sir John Scarlett is the Non-Executive Co-Chair of SC Strategy, a geopolitical advisory firm in London. He served as Chief of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) from 2004 to 2009, following a distinguished career that began in 1971 with postings in Nairobi, Paris, and Moscow, as well as senior roles in London.

In 2001, he was appointed Chairman of the UK’s Joint Intelligence Committee, coordinating intelligence assessments during a pivotal time in global affairs. He returned to MI6 in 2004 as its Chief, overseeing the agency through a period of significant international challenges.

Sir John remains active in global security and policy. He is a Distinguished Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), Vice-President of the UK Association de la Légion d’Honneur, and a trustee of both the French Institute in the United Kingdom and the Royal Medical Foundation of Epsom College.
