Feel the swing, soulful grooves, and timeless elegance of jazz’s greatest legends as Paul Gavin & Mosaic bring the music of Art Blakey, Duke Ellington, and Louis Armstrong to life. From Blakey’s driving rhythms to Ellington’s sophisticated orchestrations and Armstrong’s iconic melodies, this dynamic ensemble celebrates the power, nuance, and joy of these iconic artists in a performance that is both a heartfelt tribute and a vibrant celebration of their enduring influence on jazz.
Led by award-winning composer, arranger, and educator Paul Gavin, artistic director of the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective and the Lake Wales Jazz Connection, the ensemble brings exceptional artistry and experience to the stage. Gavin has performed with some of Florida’s finest musicians, including appearances at the Sarasota Jazz Festival, where he opened for Chucho Valdés in 2024, and performances with Tony Monaco and Eric Alexander in 2025, while continuing to mentor the next generation of jazz musicians.
Make it a full jazz day by attending Larry Tye’s lecture, The Jazzmen: How Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, and Count Basie Transformed America, before the show! Attend both programs for a more immersive experience. Programs tickets sold separately.
