Join us at the Sarasota House for Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, an intimate study of human relationships and one of the greatest operas ever written! Continuing the story of The Barber of Seville, Count Almaviva’s eye has now wandered, and his current objective is Susanna, Figaro’s fiancée. The distressed couple, along with Rosina (now the Countess Almaviva) conspire to reveal the count’s lechery, despite the many obstacles thrown in their way. Mozart’s musical genius, along with Lorenzo DaPonte’s witty libretto make The Marriage of Figaro one of opera’s masterpieces.
Accompanying you on your operatic journey is Maestro Peter Leonard. Having held prestigious positions in Germany, Maestro Leonard will lead an engaging discussion over dinner following the matinee.
Dinner will be held in the private dining room at Café Amici, a treasured spot for fine Italian cuisine located within walking distance from the Sarasota Opera House.
Round trip transportation from Boca Grande is included.
Each trip is limited to 18 people.
