About the Instructor: Nikki Heimann
Nikki Heimann is a local islander who grew up exploring and appreciating the serene beauty of the Gulf Coast where she passionately led eco-tours for many years – teaching hundreds of people about regional ecology & proper paddling techniques. She is a registered yoga instructor who specializes in stand up paddle board, children’s, and elderly (chair) practice. She is inspired by the rhythms of nature and how that is reflected in our bodies motions & breath as we move through different seasons of life. Nikki taught classes at State College of Florida, Gasparilla Inn Resort, Little Raven’s Children’s Yoga, and private sessions for individual clients. Her adult classes are more fluid and intuitive than a traditional hatha yoga class – taking extra time to soothe the nervous system through intentional breath work, guided focus inward, and flowing naturally into relaxation where the body is better able to relieve stored tension. She is currently studying mind-body connections through somatic practices which highlight noticing habitual bodily patterns & regaining muscular awareness. Nikki cares deeply for others complete well being, which includes the physical, emotional and spiritual facets we all experience as humans. Most know her locally as the general manager of her family’s popular business in downtown Boca Grande called “The Pink Pony”, where she devotes much time overseeing & maintaining day to day operations. While sustaining a busy work life, she more importantly loves being a mother to her little one, Silas, and taking him on adventures with their best four-legged friend Jearbear!
