Martin Walker

Renowned journalist, historian, and novelist Martin Walker returns to Boca Grande for a timely and compelling look at Europe’s shifting political landscape. With transatlantic relations between the United States and Europe at a low point, far-right parties gaining traction in France and Germany, and economic uncertainty colliding with a rapidly aging population, Europe faces mounting geopolitical challenges.

Possessing more than three decades of experience as a foreign correspondent and policy advisor, Walker brings rare insight and clarity to the forces shaping today’s Europe. A dear friend of Boca Grande and a favorite among our Global Issues audience, his engaging lectures are consistently sold out. Many also know him as the author of the beloved Bruno mystery series, cherished by our own “Sleuths” group, as well as the host of unforgettable Friends trips, from vineyard tours and truffle hunts to intimate lunches in his private Dordogne home.

Reception generously hosted by Maggie and John Handal.
