Economic Summit 2019
Thursday, February 28th | 3:30pm
General Admission $20
The Boca Economics Group presents the 2019 Economic Summit, bringing you the latest in news and trends. This group is comprised of knowledgeable island residents that meet regularly to discuss and debate current macroeconomic issues.
The Summit this year will seek to cover four major areas of interest.
- The performance and potential growth of the U. S. economy two years into the Trump presidency and post the mid-term elections given the tax and regulatory reform to date. Is our Fiscal policy sustainable?
- The status and potential impact of the unfunded Pension liabilities at all levels of government, as well as the private sector in the context of all unfunded promises in our economy.
- Through history, trade has been the glue that holds a peaceful world together. Where are we now headed? A failing World Trade Organization and world trade order, a trade war, increasing tariffs, national security protections and export controls – and a rising power in China seeking high technology from others. What are the possible outcomes and what are the implications for consumer prices, employment, investment and the economy?
- As usual, a forecast of market indexes and interest rates will be offered. The Capital Markets presentation will address the equity, bond and currency markets in the context of Federal Government and Central Bank Policy, Geopolitical Events and Valuations.
